lzo

I will add install script to lzo(p) when it gets full BeOS attributes/MIME support. I'm still trying to learn the source code and Be Book to find easy way to implement all BeOS-specific additions to it. But enough of lzo here, if someone wants to comment about it, use it's own talkback or e-mail me directly.

THX :)

mime is currently not used when generating file but better to put it there. Currently Archiver uses system function to update mime, and that function looks for mime in mime "database". if not found, function just leaves it as a "stream of bytes" file.

Also You could write installer script for lzop, and add mime type for lzo files (setmime terminal application).

lzo rules

LZO compressed file
maximum compression
application/x-lzo-compressed
.lz
/boot/home/config/bin/lzop
-9
-P
-o
FILENAME

LZO compressed file
fast compression
application/x-lzo-compressed
.lz
/boot/home/config/bin/lzop
-1
-P
-o
FILENAME

Just replace the single line breaks with tabs, because I don't want to make too long lines here.

NOTE: I made up the MIME type, because I didn't use any default MIME type when making lzo or it's Expander rules.

NOTE2: -P means save original filename, normally lzop doesn't save it, because it replaces the original file.

NOTE3: -o tells it not to replace the original and use passed filename instead ;)

lzo support?

I just switched to my BeOS machine, so I can write some rules when I first download this app ;)

i don't know lzo, one has to only add rule for it - just like with expander :)
i can add some rules to next release if people want, but i have to have them first.

Thanx Shard, this is great, now I can bzip2 files with no effort.

Works exactly how it should and nice and simple.

Definently a 10 :)
