I know that it does not close and that it is not optimal, but until i can find a way around the bug YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE DESKBAR ENTRY TO GET NOTIFICATIONS!
sorry about that....

When you close the app main window you still have the deskbar replicant, but the main windows entry does not close on the deskbar. This is rather annoying as it just sits there & litters things. Can you make sure the main windows exits clean. Also since you have added the deskbar replicant is it neccesary to even have the main window show up on the deskbar at all?

I tried right off to add 2 apointments to check the noteification. One went off the second did not. If you want to do networkign add it to the html export feature you have. Make it have a timer & every so often you can have it export to html in a certain dir if the system its running on is a server or upload to a server where you can remotly log into a secure web server & view apointments online out side your home. You could do many things here & add networking & format exchange so make it sync with hand helds & other poartable devices via the web. tcp/ip is a common protical so sync via the net. There are your networking projects. I know your bord with it but I really hope to see it continue. I'd love to pitch in but I simply can't learn c++ with the resources I have avil. Please considder keeping it going & think about the ideas I tossed out. maybe you could make it a server in it's self & let it notify some one if they have an email back on their normal machine (This would be handy if the email had a meeting or apoint info & then you could remotly add the date to your schedualer that would then send a notification to a users mobile device about a schedual apointment. This would include networknig secrure data transmissions & much more. Think of it man. GO GO GO. have I got you interested? heh

hey if your getting tired of it teach me to code & 'll pick it up ;P - hey I noticed there is still no option for say an event every day or one day a week. Like Every friday & sunday night I'd want to set a do your laundry time. Unless I'm missing it I'd have to put it in by hand on every friday & sunday of the month. Will there be the ability to add mass dates (same day every week) soon?

The PPC version I compiled works pretty good. All of the appointment & note adding and updating seems to work as expected -- both from using buttons and the contextual menus. Oddly enough, the only things that do not work are non-critical: the About box comes up with a title only -- the rest is blank. Also, the default behavior of checking for updates crashes the app. Not sure why exactly, but this functionality does work with other apps, so I am very confident it can be made to work here as well.
This app is something I've been needing/wanting since PR2! It is one of the "Big 3" in my mind:
1. Project Management
2. Time/Contact Management
3. Financial Management
Feature requests:
1. Integration of appointments and contacts, including the ability to send email to them.
2. Expansion of #1 into specialized appointments -- meetings! Email reminders to groups of contacts. The OBOS, etc. teams could probably get tons of use out of this.
3. Integration with a To-do app or development of that functionality within this app, including the ability to prioritize them, with reminders and snooze capability.
I'm sure I'll think of more, but this is a good indication of what I am looking for -- as well as a vote of confidence in this app and your abilities.
Keep up the great work!

The first time I ran this program, none of the entries I made showed up in the right-hand list. Similarly, I don't think the ~/config/settings structure was created immediately. Quit & restarted, then everything worked.
Looks promising; I appreciate the early appearance of an export feature. Further down the road, maybe an open standard like vCalendar (a la BeThere)?

This looks like a really great app. Thanks for all your hard work. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to make it so that each day on the calendar with an appointment lights up, or has the number of appointments on it in red in the corner, or something to indicate that you've got something going on. I hope that makes sense. Feel free to e-mail me if you've any questions.
Thanks again,
Bill

2 more things... one would be how does it keep track of the time. I mean when you close it it exists. So I imagine you need to add it to your boot script in order to have it allways monitor the time to let you knwo when a reminder has been reseached & this will also call for setting it as a background app? The problem there is then how to recall it if you minimise it - but maybe I can dedicate a workspace to it & just have it allways open there. Other thign would be a deskbar replicant that is allways running & wathcing for the times. Other then that about about a flag for this date every year. Like for birthdays & holidays & such. Thanks

well I can see you have pit a lot of work into this man & think your going to finnish this off as a bad ass piece of software. Thanks go out to ya as I'm going to migrate all my apointments from my schedualer to this tonight. Other then that I must ask if you'd be so kind as to consider a added feature. When I set a date there is a time at which it notifies you of the apointment. Could you add a second "alarm" or pre notification to that. Like I have an apointment to have my fore arm tattoo finnished tomorrow at work, so that means I have a reminder tonight saying hey dont forget about the apt tomorrow & then one about 30 min before hand. So basicalyl a night before reminder with out having to add two entries for the pre reminders. & maybe also add a NAG™ (NAG™ is a registered trade mark of the Wives of the World foundation) [j/k] features for those who need to be aggrivated for say every 5 mni after a notification goes off to GET GOING - or GET UP or what ever. I'm sure you'll add them in time so just ask'n if you could toss that in soon. keep up the GREAT work!!!

Looks really good. Great to see some software released in Norwegian as well :-) That doesn't happen to often.
I also added a small newsupdate on my webpage: http://www.frankps.net
