Hi <Icewwarp>

It`s not true, excuse me, please.
I`wrote this text from Zeta 1.1 (build 13538). On Zeta 1.0 (no update 1.1) file size "auvia" above 34.7kB and play Left/Right - but only REAR (pink jack).
MB AsusTeK A7V8X-X (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=13&l3=62&model=227&modelmenu=1).
After update to Zeta 1.1 "auvia" file size is above 230kB and mixer "ac97" is not visible.
Mode 4Speakers/Surround or 5.1 is inaccesible always.
Eg. Into popular aplication "stampTV" (ver.3.3-zeta-final) Audio->Source is EMPTY.
I`test pack "/ZETA_1.0/__PACKAGES__/Experimental/auvia.multiaudio-media_addon" in Zeta 1.1, but no success (only regularly restarting my Media Server).
Systems sounds is always OK! (in Zeta 1.1 no change volume).
I`buy new Audigy sound card, but audio support in Zeta is very poorly (only basically).
This is very stressed for me.

Greetings

Zeta 1.1

"..it looks like all links for the CVS version (maybe properly found?) are dead..."
"...i need to keep changing the output each time between Windows and BeOS.."
Sources not found for me - to by recompile without this most irritation BUG :(.

Even on older chips, only output functions work - input/recording is apparently not enabled in the mixer. Thanks for the feedback - it's one less thing to worry about as I plan my new system!

FYI, works fine with FIC AN11 Mobo (Via KT266A chipset, VT8233 embedded audio) Thought you'd like to add it to your compatibility list. Thanks for the great sound!

No success yet with OpenBrick

Unfortunaltely I couldn't get this driver to work with an OpenBrick (www.openbrick.org) which has a Geode GS5530A processor (300MHz), and supposedly a VT82C686. Which is a bit of a shame, since it is the one main thing from running BeOS on it. Sound works when installing Zeta, but the system becomes slow beyond usability.

I have an Asus A7v8x-x motherboard, with via 8235.

Sound is working good but i get it out of Mic input instead of line out, ... i need to keep changing the output each time between Windows and BeOS...

Is this fixed??
If not is there a way I can fix it by swapping Mic in, line out?

Well, one more user reporting that the KT3 Ultra ARU doesn't work. But, I'll give you a few tips so maybe you can add support to it on newer drivers.

MSI instead of using the southbridge for sound, they soldered a Realtek ALC650 and use that instead. Windows works fine, and Linux used to do the same thing as BeOS, but now on ALSA 1.02 it works.

ALSA uses the via_82xx driver, and that one has support for my motherboard. Maybe you'd like to give it a closer look and implement KT3 Ultra Aru support? You'd be doing me and hundreds of KT3 users a big favor!

Thanks

Icewarp : your card id is well referenced in this driver. could you try the debug version ?
Then send me the log file in your home directory.

Thanks.

Hi, I have an A7V8X mobo, with VIAKT400 Chipset. I'm using Dano version, altought I don't have any error msg on sound config, I can't hear anything, even with sound playing and max volume.
I tried this driver, but on the script, in the part that it scans for a card, it returns a 'failure' message. I think it does not have my ID. Here's some useful information as follows:
Device Type: Multimedia Device (Sound).
Base 4, Subtype 1, Interface 0.
Vendor: Via Technologies, Inc. (0x116).
Card ID: 3059

Any help will be welcome.
Thanks, Icewarp.

I'll report back later, hope it works, cause I got the card already installed and None Out|None in in mixer properties

Thank you!!!

Finally I can watch DVD (and everything else, for that matter) on my notebook, a Compaq Presario 725EA, based on the VIA KN133 chipset. Note that I'm not using the new MultiAudio add-on.

The only problem I have is when I use this driver and the video driver (BeSavage) together, but this happened with the old MVP4 driver too, so it should be a BeSavage's fault.

Thank you for this!

Same problem, I have an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard.

Driver works fine but sound comes thru Mic-input. In Windows in 6 channel mode, mic-input works as rear-speaker out. But in 2 speaker mode the same socket/jack works as mic-input.

Hello!

I found a interesting thing about your driver: I using multi_audio.media_addon-bin-alpha5.zip, emuxki-bin-alpha7.zip and auvia driver on my Asus A7V8X-x with via kt400 and vt8235. I got the following result: I have sound but not at speakers output - i have sound at mic-input? Does someone knows the reason for that. But it works fine that way. Thank you for you work.

Thanks for the driver. It works on my Epox 8KHA+ board.
One thing though it cannot play audio output from my CD writer drive to the VT8233 AC97 chipset and cannot record input from a microphone. These features do not seem to be implemented yet. Anyway a great effort all the same.
