The only thing this patcher does is to replace the GenuineIntel string with the AuthenticAMD one. So it doesn't matter what AMD CPU you have. If you have an Intel processor you do not need this patch and in fact should not install it as it will disable processor features.

No sempron processor suported?!

Afaik it was only the early P4 that caused problems & new P4 should run fine. I have installed BeOS PE unpatched on both Athlon XP (Model 8) & P4's. I've only had to patch an early thunderbird & never since.

Don't know ...

Since I don't have any P4 machines arround me I have not needed a P4 patch yet and don't know how to write one. This Patcher was inspierd by the simpatch sources, I just rewrote the idea in Delphi, and combined all to a little newbie friendly GUI app. Patching for AMD processors isn't very hard, you just need the right tools (common hex editor, the commandline patch or a working BeOS). But for a normal user, that just want to have a look at BeOS this is quite complicated, thats why I wrote this app.

How about a pentium4 patch ?

does this patch can do the same for the intel pentium 4 patch?

my beos clock in beos max runs 1.5~2.0 times faster. it makes me itch.

Wow!

Too bad the patch does not work.

I have patched it for an AMD Duron, and I have the same problem.
And when trying to patch an image in an Intel processor machine, the string was not found.

The worst is that I have to re-download again the BeOS Max 223 MB because the previous download file was corrupt. Entire nights wasted...

Nice idea

Hey, thats a clever idea, it allows people with only access to Windows to try PE if they've got an XP or Duron. Personally, I'd advise people to get the Max edition, but that requires a spare partition, so I guess that your solution is for everyone else without a spare partition.

Well done.
