i'm not sure weither my USB works or not ,i plugged my webcam and nothing happened although my USB is identified by the devices panel as an intel one,the app just sat at the deskbar and no information was provided, but i would guess that my USB works because i have an entry in the printer prefs but no devices to try out.

Are you sure nothing happens? All it does is put an icon in the deskbar. If you plug in a USB device the icon changes, and then you click on it and it reads out the manufacturer's device id.
If it doesn't do that, perhaps that shows your USB isn't working. Some USB chipsets BeOS doesn't handle.
As for that broken link, it's just a link to a preferences file which doesn't exist until the app has been run. I think it's just the developer's way of saying: Look, here's a file my app installs. Just in case you want to know, when you uninstall it.
But I agree with the guy who calls it a tease, because it's not a driver; it'll correctly identify my Sony Handycam but with no driver I still can't actually use it.So near and yet so far :-(

My Compaq iPaq PocketPC dock isn't recognized. The only information that is shown is the VendorID and ProductID. Similar programs in Windows return significantly more information so it's not a Microsoft "feature".

This app is a teaser. Not that it doesn't work. Quite the opposite! It works great! But now that I can see my 256MB USB pen drive specs I want to access it. Someone please write a driver.
Great job on this app.
