I don't have any m4a files to test with, but I assume ID3v2 already works with m4a files in Army Knife 3.999, as m4a (and mp4) files are MPEG files, just like mp3 files are MPEG files. (If ID3v2 is a good MPEG citizen.. I don't know.)
ArmyKnife depends on TagLib for all filetype-specifics, so it's all up to TagLib if a certain filetype is supported or not.

Anyway, I'm taking a major leave of absence from all things BeOS/computing in general, so the future of Army Knife is out of my hands. Perhaps Christian will pick it up? Or somebody else.

is this version 4 going to have support for mpeg 4 audio? it would be nice to not have to add those attributes the old fashioned way.

indeed it sux having all those duplicated entries on bebits.
As Jonas now has access to the BeUnited CVS he can put your patches in.
I also did some things on ArmyKnife, I didn't put it on bebits anyway. I changed some shortcut keys (ALT-0 to 9 is nice, but what about other keymaps than qwerty that can't make them ??), and also added preliminary support for mp3wrap, and mp3gain.

... send patches to beunited.org? Why not make'em post new version, instead of adding Yet Another Fork?
I mean it's great You worked on it, but it would be better to not to have so many forks. Also author gave project to beunited to make people work on it united not everyone for him/herself....
