RC3 and RC2 are not compatible in some parts. So, Rengaran doesn't work
with the RC3.
Currently, I don't have RC3. After R1's release, I'll release Rengaran
for R1.

Hello, I like Rengaran _very_ much, but since I installed Zeta RC3 on a blank partition, it does not start any more.
I always get the message: Could not open 'Rengaran'. (Missing symbol 'be_locale')
Is there somethnig wrong with the locale_server from RC3 or what was happening?
Are you able to fix this problem?

Hey, SHINTA!
Thanks, for the app, but Rengaran sometimes just freezes. it shows a message in the left bottom corner (please, wait or something) and then nothing, if i try to clicl on menu stuff all GUI of Rengaran is locked ups.

As soon as YellowTab release the LocaleKit API, or better, open source it, OpenBeOS will support it. And R5 too, BTW.
If they don't, OSBOS will start to fork more and more :-(

Rengaran is a slideshow viewer that allows you to display files located in a given folder in sequence with navigation control (don't know if it has auto-slideshow).
From the screenshots at the URL below, it seems to offer the following features, which most probably are not available in ShowImage:

# Support for comments (text file content overlay)
# Control of how comments are displayed (font, font size, background color, margins, character encoding)

# Uses system translators, so supports wide variety of graphic formats
I believe this is a Zeta-only version to take advantage of the Locale kit.

I don't know, but the featureset of this application looks very similar to what the current (CVS) version of OBOS ShowImage is able to do (continous viewing, fullscreen, scaleing). While this seems to be a Zeta only app ShowImage runs fine on R5.

Notes:
- You can use that binary as a drop-in replacement for R5 ShowImage (may needs a restart)
- None of the work was done by me, just wanted to inform R5 users that cannot use this app.
