What this appears to be to me (considering compilation date), is the zbeos from a slightly older Dano. Which was more similar to R5.

zbeos is the beos bootloader and kernel loader (very alike vmlinuz in linux) which contain gzip'ed BeOS Boot Sequence Images (lighting icons, be logo, version and some other) In short: this is what you see when you load your beos. Look here for samples http://www.beosmax.org/BootScreenContest.htm
so this is not a kernel :P
