True, true. Of course this is the copy of *my* config file, I just changed the CPU type, A1200 had a version of 68020. You definitely have to check out documentation/configuration.txt, although they sort of suck. Interestingly, the CPU isn't that problematic at all - you can actually emulate an A500 with a 040 (the 68k had a high level of forward-compability). ROM firmware is much more important - you need Kickstart 3.0 to properly emulate an Amiga with AGA chipset, although other combinations may work. You also mentioned graphics mem for RTG cards like Picasso... in (Win)UEA that would be setting z3mem_size=<megabytes>, but I haven't tested it here, plus you need to configure your workbench (drivers, libraries etc.) to use it anyways
Also don't overlook the HD and joyport lines - you may want to disable them by placing '#' (comment) at the beggining.
Anyways... I'm no Amiga expert, but this is still fun ;)

I'll give this a go.
On a side note, and example should be included so that users don't have to have have Windows and WinUAE installed to figure out how the config should look.

Here you go, a tricked-out A1200 :)
cpu_type=68040
cachesize=4096
chipset=aga
chipmem_size=2
fastmem_size=2
kickstart_rom_file=/boot/apps/e-uae/roms/kick30.rom
gfx_fullscreen_amiga=false
gfx_center_horizontal=true
filesystem2=rw,DH0:System:/boot/apps/e-uae/hd/System,1
filesystem2=rw,DH1:Work:/boot/apps/e-uae/hd/Work,1
joyport1=joy0
show_leds=true
JIT is enabled if cachesize is > 0, I believe.

Can someone show a basic config script that will give me a basic AGA 040 set up with JIT, 2mb CHIP, some fast ram, and extended gfx ram.
Also I'd like to use directories has hard drives.
Totally lost.

about the "slowness" it's usable for me. I'm comparing it to the windows native version, i have not try the SDL one. It's usable, i guess i'm 80-85% of full speed. Thing is that i mostly play game while having something being worked in the background, so i like to have some spare juice.
About the hardware i use, all is supported, it's not the problem. It's just that i'm used to real amiga blitter silk smooth scrolling :).
If BeMame is any indication, i made a report on it and from memory it was gaining 30% from the move away of SDL.
On the resolution switch comment, i can't say about this version as i have yet to found the way to make it full screen (and finding fps display btw). The problem was (and perhaps still is) when you have game with different part in different resolution. From top of my head Agony from Psygnosis. It have load screen in different resolution than the gameplay screen. So, if you set the res for the gameplay, you lack border, if you set it for those screen, you get a letterbox gameplay.

So am I!
But I hear you are busy man these days, almost single-handedly writing an OS or something. ;-)

@AlienSoldier
> It's still slow on my PC, sound is good.
Really? If your video and audio hardware is well-supported under BeOS (which is a task in itself these days) the performance should be better. What Amiga software do you find to be slow?
> It really need a BeMame kind of native display.
Definitely. I haven't been able to work as on the BeOS side of things as much as I would have liked lately due to the two systems that i was previously running BeOS on dying on me. Then I had a lot of trouble putting together a system that would actually run BeOS. :-(
Still, I've partially merged some of Axel's code, but there are still some bugs to work out. That's why I've still only provided the SDL build. And, unfortunately, SDL on BeOS still leaves a lot to be desired.

Good to hear.

Indeed.

was unaware of the F sequence.
It's still slow on my PC, sound is good. It really need a BeMame kind of native display.
Otherwise, it's really stable, did not crash.
Can't wait to get axeld GUI
One thing i always hated about uae is the switching from hi to low res in full screen. Is that better now?

No problems with floppy images here.
How are you specifying the adf image to load? There are three ways to do this:
1) Press F12+F1 to get the insert floppy dialog.
2) With the config file option floppy0=<path to floppy image>.
3) Passing -s floppy0=<path to floppy image> on the command-line when starting E-UAE.
What happens when your try to load an ADF image?
Cheers,
Rich

I want to test your UAE, but i dont can run any ADF or HDF, because i dont can tell the emulator there it is. I have use the terminal .../uae* .../workbench.adf (via Darg and Drop), but he starts the emulator without the ADF-File. I only get the message "there are no diskdrive in Df0"
Blease make a configfile for your Project and litte Tutorial "How to Use it".

Thank you very, very much - you have done fantastic work. I installed AmigaOS3.1 into UAE last night, and it works great. Boots in about 5 seconds - my other Amigas were never as fast. ;)
I don't have tested much, but at least Bars&Pipes works reliably - which makes me very happy, as I need it to convert my old MIDI songs to Sequitur.
Bugs:
* ~/config/settings/uaerc isn't read on mystem, but passing an uaerc with -f works fine.
* error message on start: "Signature in rsrc doesn't match constructor arg. (application/x-SDL-executable,application/x-vnd.UAE)"
* fastmem_size doesn't seem to work, but as z3mem_size does, it doesn't matter much.
* problem with Bars&Pipes: double-clicks on pipeline tools don't work properly. Normally a double-click opens an edit window, and with click-hold-move you can duplicate the tool to another place (single click just selects it).
In uae the click-hold-move works okay, but even a single click always duplicates the tool to the next place in the pipeline, as if I had done click-hold-move - it seems as if some very small mouse movement happens between mouse click and release.
Apart from these things, UAE works about perfectly. JIT compiler seems to work without a hitch.
Thanks again for your great work!

Alright man, this is what I've been waiting for! Even if BeOS is dead, even if all BeOS resurrection project fail, this could be the one thing that will KEEP BeOS installed on my hard drive for years to come! I do not like AmiThalon, and Amiga XL is great, but I HATE QNX, once you get JIT working and iron out the bugs, this will be HEAVEN to me man, thankx a lot for taking up this work, you are GOD! :)
