Yick! The 16C745 isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's a *low speed* USB device. I seem to recall it'll only do HID stuff, too, but don't quote me. Also, it isn't flash. So, you'd need a UV Erase.

You're better off using a USB transceiver such as the Phillips PDIUSBD11/12 (One is serial interface the other is parallel). Check out http://www.beyondlogic.org/

Although there is rumour of an 18F based PIC that does full (or is it high?) speed USB coming out "soon".

On a note actually related to gputils; good to see someone making the builds "public".

I've been wanting something like this! Perhaps the USB-savvy PIC16C745 can be supported some time in the future.
