That is true, some ISPs make sure that you use their newsserver from their connection. However, I know there are other newsservers out there that are free for all. Just try a few, you'll see.

My ISP check whether I'm connected through my home connection, can we go around that? So that I can connect my laptop elswhere ans still use my own ISP's newsgroup's?
