I heard it's only the static lib version, it should work directly in R5, as it doesn't use any network stuff, and doesn't link to anything (unlike shared libs)

You can compile it for R5, just get the source from Sleepycat. I make it Zeta because I compiled it with the Zeta Devkit and dont want to claim that it runs on R5.

setgcc R5
is the only thing to do to get this compiled for R5.

There are *no* reason to make everything Zeta-specific, specially things like this which is a library that doesn't depend on anything else.
