Okay, I think I was wrong about the preferences, I can add labels.

HOWEVER: I can not save changes to attributes. Yes, I have selected to save the changes; I've tried both Alt-S and the menu item to save changes. I've tried multiple different fields on multiple different items. While I can edit the field once I close snoopy (either close the window or quit completely) if I open the file again the changes are gone.

Erk! That's strange. You are telling it to save, right? It doesn't automagically save any changes you make. For the next release I'll include a "This file has changed, save?" alert.

Do you get to the stage of the text control? To insert a new field you use "Insert" (Command or control, can't remember which + "Insert" inserts a field under a previous one). To edit an existing field it's Command-E. Or F2. I'm at work so can't verify. The Manual describes how to do all this sort of stuff.

>Is this a Neo issue?

Nope, I'm using Neo here and it all works dandy.

Neo problems?

I'm running Zeta Neo and snoopy can only be used to view attributes. I can edit the fields of a file but they don't save. If I open the preferences panel I can move the plugins around but I can't edit labels or templates (clicking in the edit field results in nothing happening).

Is this a Neo issue?

Are you running R5 ? Or Zeta?
Also, at which stage does it crash? When you click on "Templates" in the left pane? When you click "Add New" from the drop down? "Create" from the MIME window? Inserting a new Template name / attribute?

There was, I appear to have removed it (Whoops). Presuming you mean the ability to do "./snoopy /boot/home/pron.txt" and have it open in Snoopy.

If you mean the ability for Snoopy to spit out the attribute info to stdout, then, no. And I can't envision it ever happening. If that's what you're after I suggest "listattr /boot/home/pron.txt"

command line

actually SnoopyPrefs keep crashing here when I try to add a new Template.

segment violation occurred
BMessage::GetInfo(unsigned long, long, char **, unsigned long *, long *) const:
GetInfo__C8BMessageUllPPcPUlPl:
+00a1 ec1a0089: * 1089 movl %edx, (%eax)

Besides that, is there any way so that I can open a file using command line?

Installation script is horribly broken

The installation script provided don't work at all. Make sure you are in the correct directory (Tracker starts everything in /boot/home). Use mkdir option "-p" to make sure that all paths on the way are created, use "copyattr -d" instead of cp to preserve attributes.
Good luck with the next version :-)

Also create..

This folder: /boot/home/config/add-ons/Snoopy/views

You might have to copy the plug-ins there manually, I had to..

Small Window bug

Ung! Silly me.

If you find that the Snoopy window is tiny and shows no data create the directory /boot/home/config/settings/slaadsoft/Snoopy and then run the Preflet. Click on each of the entries on the left (Plugins, etc), except for Templates and click save. Then run Snoopy and it should be fine.

I'll post a fix for this in the next few days. Sorry!
