It still compiles very well.
Unfortunately I can't say if it works or not because I doesnt own such a device, but Hagen-Roderich (I gave him the link too) already tried it out. He said it works fine.

Thank you very much!! I've now uploaded this new copy to both of my mirrors and updated the description on BeBits. I took the liberty of removing a few un-needed files in the source folder (visages of the old USBKit), and also updated the ReadMe file to give credit where credit is due. If people could check this out, I'd be grateful. For those who can, please also check that the source can still be compiled (and I didn't break it in the process). Thanks again!

All I've to do was following the steps Ithamar Ademar posted on this entry in the bugtracker.
You can find the 1.1 Beta compiled with Zeta Neo here: www.john-lennon.de/menlo-park/beos/dev/GemTek_USB_zeta.zip

If you already know a bit of C++, you should have no problem with this code. It's not really a "driver" in the normal sense, because it doesn't run in the kernel, and hence it is much easier to debug. In fact, this project has remarkably little code. The key is just being about to compile it in BeIDE and step through the code to find were the problem lies.

It is still the same error message that i got.
USBKit: Driver version 0x0016 != expected version 0x0015
I think i must learn how code a driver.

Does that mean that this time, the error message has a different "expected version"? So instead of "0x0015" it is something else?
Thanks!

Ah, that's very useful information. Searching in Google, I found a website that has the USBKit. It appears the latest version is 0.20 and the one GemTek USB is using is 0.15 (which is also the initial release, apparently). So I recompiled using this latest version, and it appears to work OK on my machine, but of course, the test is whether it will work with Zeta. If you give me your e-mail address, I can send you this new binary, or you compile it yourself, if you like. If this works, I'll update the copy on BeBits. Anyway, here's the link to the website that has the USBKit:

I had some time today to look into this. First of all, if you run BeRadio from a terminal, you should get some debugging information from this driver in the terminal window (if I remember correctly). That should help track down some issues. However, if it's really that the USB library has changed, then you might not get any error messages at all (I'm not sure). If I have more time later, I might be able to check into this a bit more.

Well, like I said, since I don't have Zeta, it's really hard for me to debug this. Your best bet is to find someone with programming experience (and Zeta) to help you out. Since the source code is included, I'd guess it wouldn't take long to find out why it's not working, and then how much work it would take to fix it.

I don't own a copy of Zeta, so I don't have any way of testing or fixing this bug. The fact that it works at all in Zeta RC3 is pretty amazing, actually. Still, I would think that you'd get some kind of error message, not that it just doesn't appear in BeRadio...but you've probably already checked that its installed correctly, I imagine. Anyway, if you want to donate a copy of Zeta, I could probably fix it. :)

I have used this driver under ZETA RC3 and it works fine. On the same pc under ZETA NEO SP1 the driver is not found by BeRadio any more. Maybe because ZETA NEO use a other USB stack as ZETA RC3. USB Commander shows the same entrys under both ZETA versions.
Can you please make a update of this driver?
