I've added download link to version working with net_server. It's made from Haiku SVN code of the driver + net_server addon based on sample code from Be (EtherPCI driver addon).

Net_server "hangs" on BeOS reboot/shutdown, so You'll have to kill it, but that's not much problem, just small annoyance :)

DHCP

This is probably a fault in the OS -- there shouldn't be any reason the driver would even know about DHCP, much less be able to break it, and DHCP has been reported working with this driver on other hardware before. Sorry.

A small jiffey.....

The driver works perfectly on my broadcom integrated nic using a static ip, but recently my isp wont allow static ip´s and i have tried using the statics but then the mac gets banned. And it seems that the driver does not have dhcp support (atleast not for my card, or mybe not my isp i dont know anymore)
Any comment would be nice.

Nothing but trouble here with printing after installing Bone.
Tried it a few times, installed the "fixed" printer prefs, simply doesn't work!
So no bone for me.

BTW I use an USB laser printer.

You can use your printer on BONE. You just need to "find" the "fixed" printer prefs. You can't use AppleTalk, but you can actually use stable IPP/LPR..

Thanks to your driver, I got a pretty up to date Acer LC8003 laptop running perfectly including the network.

The driver did lock up the system though. I got it to run simply by including some lines in the bootscript that sleep a little, install the driver, rescan for it, sleep again, then run ifconfig and dhconfig and remove it afterwards.
Given that the ethernet adaptor has to share its interrupt with a Radeon card, 3 USB adaptors, the floppy and a Smartcard reader it is more like a miracle that it runs at all. Zeta might require ACPI support after all...

In short: no. There are actually two kinds of 3c940, one of which is a rebranded Tigon 3. The other is a homebrew 3com chip. They, for some unknown reason, used the same model number for both. Patrick's driver is only for the 3com one -- these drivers are not interchangeable.

Can I try this driver instead of http://www.bebits.com/app/3886 driver..

I have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard.
Though the above Marvell driver works, I would like to try this one since it says improved network speed ;-P

about a net_server version

Of course i would be very happy if you make a net_server one. Bone on R5 is simply illegal and for people that use a free edition of BeOS, they actually have to install Bone to have Gigabit or Wi-fi.

That would be very cool !
