Eugenia, don't bring that Gnome vs. KDE flame war here. This ain't a Linux site. You don't like it, don't use it.

...but also, the alternating colors in list view get confused when you delete files, copy files, etc. They have to manually refresh as you access each file.

Thanks for the new release of Crystal Tracker. I successfully install it to PhOS B5. Now my expander didn't crash anymore :). And finally you give an option to disable the side bar. But too bad I can't make the sidebar to show the icon only, well on the future version maybe :)
Keep the good work...

it is nice to have another version of Tracker for BeOS
i like the blue row color on the tracker list and the iconish menu. I like the integrated EndSession.BeOS too.
But you should make the sidebar as optional component because it make the tracker look inconsistent.
Overall you make my tracker more "colorfull" then the ussual "dull" look on the original opentracker and I like it a lot.
but there'is a bug that keep bothering me. My expander keep crahsing when i select the new directory to expand. I hope you can fix it on your next release.
keep the good work...

I Like the sidebar icons (but please use more be-insh types and be more consistent in wich you use.
Further, the Home folder gets a lot of unwanted extra's (to much folders and files are added to this USER STORAGE AREA), it should be as less bloathed as possible (Just My Humble Opinion).
IOW, please keep up the Be-way of less is (a LOT) more in usabillity!!
last but not least, I like the overall idea and your work!!!
greets, Rob Tijssen

I think some ideas or interesting to explore but tracker shouldn't become KDE.
Like Eugenia I think "less is more" and BeOS was the best example for this, so keep it simple.
I hope you could make a version with the original beos icons or the svg ones in corporating some of your ideas.

Thanks for adding EndSession.BeOS to CrystalTracker.
2 questions:
1. Could you add your nice EndSession icon to appear where my original icon was?
2. My original EndSession.BeOS remembers the last menu item you picked. For example if I picked "Restart" the last time I ran EndSession.BeOS, then the next time I choose start EndSession.BeOS the selection will default to "Restart". The way you implemented EndSession, it always goes back to the "Shut Down" option, regardless of what was the last selection on the previous usage.
Regards,
hey68you

I have seen that separating each entry in List View a loong time ago.. wich I like. Dunno if this is something you implemented?
As to the menues on the side.. I dunno, I might actually like them. But I belive that this stuff should be implemented as extras, options to the Tracker.

Yes, I think the icons are not original, but can you send me new beos icons (including context menu icons).
In the new version the side bar will be included in setting and you can disable it if you don't like it ,but I think is very useful.

Wooh. Duh. Those "gazillion .. context menu options" are in the default (and now standard) OpenTracker. They are simply templates stored in a common directory, for common things. As far as the icons and the side bar goes, I do agree with you. I don't think many long term beos users will find them useful, but some new ones might. Take it easy, and be glad people are still developing software.

I am sorry, but what you have created would better serve the Linux/KDE community, not the BeOS one. You have added all this konqueror bloat with a gazillion of context menu options and sidebar icons to the otherwise clean Tracker.
As a BeOS/OSX/Gnome/Win user who believes that "less is more", I bypass your effort. I don't want to sound too negative, I know you have put a lot of effort there, but the outcome is just so-not-beos.

Would you please post pictures using a BeOS icon theme? I prefer Be's icons when in be and Crystal when I'm in Linux.
