I too only see "HAIKU" instead of data. I am also connecting to the internet through a router\wireless access point. Some other minor things such as AIM direct connect will not work through this, and I have to tell BeShare that I am firewalled for it to work correctly, happen when I go through a router, I suspect that this same "bug" is the culprit here.

It's not showing the amount for me either - I'm online, and can connect to said website.
I *am* behind a firewall, though i'm not using it as a web proxy, just a gateway.
Hope this helps you find the problem.

Sorry for the back-to-back posts, but I'd also like to mention that I can go to http://www.haiku-os.org/statcvs/ just fine with Firefox. I am not 100% sure that is where you're pulling the lines of code from, but figured that'd be the most obvious place.
Figured I'd mention that, so you know that I can go to the site just fine with a web browser.

I installed the new version, but now instead of it showing the command, it just shows Haiku, as if I'm offline. I've tried rebooting and loading and unloading, but no matter what, all it shows is Haiku. Every other internet application I use works fine (BeAIM, Firefox, Vision, BeShare, Get-It, etc.), so I'm not sure why it doesn't work.
I tried moving DBHaiku to ~/config/bin as suggested by mmadia on IRC, but that didn't fix anything. I'm assuming this is something specific to my setup, but right now I am unable to determine what. If I figure out what is causing the issue, I'll certainly write back saying what the solution was.

I just uploaded a new version. Basically you were getting the cmd if you could not connect to the web server.
I've now made it say "HAIKU" if you are not online.

I did a clean install of BeOS 5.0.3 just the other day, and I see the "GET /statcvs/loc" message instead of the lines of code. If I figure out what the problem is, I'll be sure to write back. As a note, I didn't install BONE or anything like that. I'm just using regular, old Netserver.

Sikosis Rocks!
Anyone on a BONE-enable OS will need to wait a bit longer ...
<Sikosis> Ah i wrote this on R5 plain
<Sikosis> It might be the net code used to fetch via http
<Sikosis> Which is why you're seeing the cmd rather than the result
the cmd is "GET /statcvs/loc" and will display in the Deskbar.
