Nice app, should come in very handy - thanks!

It also revealed the delights of replicants to me since I've never really used them prior to this.

Great work :-)

feature suggestions

It occurs to me that DesktopDrawers could be made into a neat hybrid of the right-click folder navigation of Tracker and Column View in the OS X finder. If you could drill-down into folders from DestopDrawers (a la the right click menu in Tracker), and those folders stayed stayed open, and you could drag and drop between them... I can see that being quite a useful tool.

Good thinking

Creative people like you is what beos/zeta/haiku needs. Not the 100th ftpclient but new refreshing ideas.

In fact it's nothing more than a different implementation of the folder idea, yet it looks really
refreshing.

If we want to advance and set us apart from windows linux and the like we should think out of the box, this is a good example of it

Nice! One or two suggestions/ideas

Just tried the R5 version - nice app, very cool concept. Reminds me of pop-up folders in MacOS 8/9. Any chance it will become more like that feature?

thx 4 R5

Zeta take

Thanks for putting it up here to try and thanks for the r5 version. I can understand the feelings behind what beosfrance had to say though.

I bought Zeta early, a couple of months early it turned out. When it finally did ship, people who ordered a week before shipping got it a week or 2 before I did. Now, even though I paid more than I would if I bought it now, I hear nothing from yT about getting the updates I paid for when I spent my money to help them be able to finish Zeta.

Now I have to fight to get apps to run on it, even when they are developed using it's questionable changes. It's proving to be the most problematic version of BeOS I've ever used.

Way Cool

Great app. Thank you, Mikael. I especially like that I can move the replicant around while it is STILL a replicant. I don't know any other replicants that can do that.

Thanks for the R5 version!!

besofrance: I wasn't aware that there was some obligation to make apps work in R5, I was under the impression that I was free to do whatever I felt was worth spending my time doing..

sarana: Fortunately there are people who ask for something in a nice way, which made me have a look over on my old disk and see that I had what appears to be a working R5 version lying around. I put it up next to the Zeta one, let me know if it isn't working properly.

R5 / Zeta

Why do it only for Zeta ? It's still today buggy and not yet finished. yT can't ever assume the compatibility of their RCs (cf apps not working anymore on RC3 that was working on R5, RC1 and RC2). At least, for R1 if it's quite well finished, i can understand ... but doing apps only for one tipical RC ... wwouu !

a R5 version wouldn't work on Zeta ?

Hey, all. Thanks for all your BeOS work, Mikael. Seeing as how I am not a programmer, and fear opening up the source files, and frankly, am quite busy and too impatient to dig into BeOS at this time, I would appreciate a version for R5. This also goes for anyone out there who manages to get it working for R5. I understand it is not difficult to make one, however, I do not have the developer tools at this time, and don't know how to use them yet. Thanks again, it's a good idea from what I can gather from the screenshots and the description.

Because I use Zeta and I wanted the spiffy icons. It's fairly easy to remake it for R5, it's just one function that needs changing. It began life on R5, too. The source is included, so give it a go. I think that the R5 code is even there, just #ifdef'ed out.

why does it require zeta?

It looks like a nice idea, going to try when I'm back on my BeOS PC.
