except the driver knows exactly when a team goes down...
Now, Zeta will support flock sooner or later anyway. Still useful for R5 (maybe it could go into libmoreposix) :)

Yep, I thought about a driver, too, but in the end the only advantages I saw was that one wouldn't have to start a server, and that locking might be a bit faster. Both not being strong arguments IMHO. On the other hand, it's much easier to restart a server, if something goes wrong.

I would have done something for flock() either, since I need it for several other things...
though I'd probably have used a driver..
