After the chosen file is played does the next song after the played one in playlist order get played, or the next song after the song that was being switched too in playlist order when you went to snap to a new song get played after the switched song is chosen?

What about the slow loading of playlists in CL-Amp. The cpu goes to 100% while it tries to show the time for all the files in the playlist while the first song in the playlist loads, nothing else can be done at this time because CL-Amp remaines unresponsive... can you fix that?

Or what about the bug where CL-Amp crashes on certain mod files.. or what about the playlist bug that appears sometimes that it skips the songs like 1-3 5-7 and misses the ones in between and even when skipping songs backwards and forwards ? So no, if you were really a professional DJ you would not use CL-Amp. You would use something like TuneTracker which I believe is better than CL-Amp.

Better Description:

1) You are a world-famous radio DJ using the great BeOS as your audio system
2) You have started up CL-Amp or SoundPlay with your playlist of 500 songs.
3) The current playlist is streaming along fine, when suddenly....
3) You get a request from one of your dedicated listeners to play "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - right away
4) Although it is not what radio stations normally do (to skip to a different song) in the middle of another ....
5) you are in a panic because you playlist is very jumbled and not sorted in any logical way ... oh no, you might not find "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in time to satisfy the needs of your audience ...
6) you quickly launch "JumpToFile" (preferably with a spicykey set to "/boot/apps/JumpToFile -fade")
7) you type in "Lucy"
8) a list is shown with all the songs containing the word "Lucy" in the file name or **path (not case sensitive).
9) you click on the list item "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"
10) suddenly the current song starts to fade out and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" starts to fade in...
11) your dedicated listener breathes a sigh of relief
12) while "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is still playing out you can go out and grab a coffee without worrying that the music will stop, because ...
13) the playlist will just continue on to play out the next song in the playlist after "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is finished.
14) the world is a better place for humanity.

(** note: the experimental SoundPlay version doesn't support path search.)

Searches the ***current playlist*** of CL-Amp (or SoundPlay) and without opening a new instance of CL-Amp (or SoundPlay) immediately starts playing the selected file - but keeps the current playlist still loaded in CL-Amp (or SoundPlay).

Even with TrackerNew.fs and Bart Launcher you get a new instance with an empty playlist (except for the track you just loaded).

To: judgen. I am already married with 3 kids. Sorry. (You could have had this for CL-Amp since March 2005, and for SoundPlay).

Because all my audio files are stored in a single partition, with no subfolders, I'm used to do quick searches using tracker.newfs and its filename dynamic filtering (I wish this feature will be added to opentracker), it's a really quick way to get what you want

Never used that in winamp either but...

from what it seem to do, i think you can acheive the same if you prefer sound play by using BartLauncher
http://www.bebits.com/app/1441

You need to select mpeg audio to only get mp3 files, you can even do a save setting if you plan to always use it as an audio finder, only problem is that it does not integrate with a playlist.

Speaking of Bart is would like it to be integrated into the tracker find.

I Freakin LOVE YOU!

I don't know what this does, I have never used winamp. An app description would be nice rather than to reference something that some people would not know about.

I just added an experimental SoundPlay version written in python for anygui

I know it's very slow to load ... but at least it gives you a quick way to search for a song in your playlist and 'jump' straight to playback of that song.

It would be better if it was written in BeThon as you could have more control over message, etc. if anyone wants to volunteer :)

need help adding search of id3 tags

In Winamp, the search also checks the id3 tags.

Can someone help me add this. I don't think I can can't get the id3 tag info straight from CL-Amp, but I can get the file name.

Thanks,
hey68you
