I've been using the stable version, 1.0.4, in development, and it's superb.
I do wish I knew how to use the stereo( ) function in libspeex, though. I tried to follow the way it's used in speexenc, but it seems there was something I didn't understand. Oh, well, my microphones are mono, anyway.
