...I think, was registering your app as a handler for certain file types so that FileFilter shows up in the OpenWith menu.

For perfection, how about setting a few Supported Types (in the GUI version)? ;) Text/* or text/plain and the common source filetypes, maybe.
Be's original StyledEdit allows opening even binaries, which I kind of like. With Haiku's StyledEdit I have to use DiskProbe a lot. BTW, sometimes I wish Tracker would default to opening things in DiskProbe when it can't find any other appropriate application.

That usually occurs if you copy code from NetPositive. I always see it copying function definitions or example code out of the BeBook.
