I've got a small problem. I've tried both versions on PhOS (with libzeta added) and on BeOS r5 Pro. After running the program for several hours, it crashes. Here's the error I get:
"AddChild failed - the view already belonged to someone else."
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks.

The new BeY! will be included in the new Zeta version as Yahoo! Messenger. This will include Preferences, small File Transfer and fixed bugs.

I like Bey! a lot. But how do I get the sounds to work? And can it be configured to pop-up the chat box in whatever workspace is in current use? I'm using it on both Bone and on Zeta RC3.

well I could send your the link to the Bme webpage...no downloads yet:
http://bme.sourceforge.net
note that the code in CVS is old code and broken, I've started from scratch using some bits and pieces of the old code here and there. The result is cleaner and hopefully more stable code, which is easier to extend...right now I've got a working login and some details from the server are read...all the new code will be MSPN11(or maybe even 12) which is the protocol number for msn 7.0...right now I want to get the basic msn features working and then move on to p2p(display pictures, file transfer en user emoticons)...however it's a lot of work and I don't know for sure when I'll complete this messenger! I will try to get some working code into CVS soon and hopefully the webpage will be fixed soon too, so that I can keep you all updated about my progress!
regards,
Tim

The avatar pictures will only show if someone is using the windows version of Yahoo! So far in BeY! u can't put your own avatar picture...
Yahoo and MSN indend to combine their protocols next year... So if the libyahoo2 team manage to do this ...

The emoticon images do NOT show up when selected, OR when the other person sends one to me.
I tried restarting BeY! .
I also tried deleting my old BeY!1.2 config file.
I have all the proper translators. I can email you a shot of them, if you wish.
While on the log in screen, using Tab button to cycle through, it acts as a return/enter instead of tab! This is aggrivating while I enter my email/pass.

The save conversation option, I used straight away.
Very usefull. Message archive, also usefull.
Cool looking new 'glassy' icons.
I will have to see if it is stable, yet (the last version, is plagued with stability while using BONE) . Hopefully next version updates will not take as long as this one did.

Nice piece of application. Is this addon/module based ? Would it be possible to add a MSN module ?? I have to say i like a stand-alone app better than the IM_Kit. A matter of taste i guess.
No hard feelings to the im_kit crew!

So BeY! is in a state of semi-abandonness?
Too bad, it's pretty good... the only thing I need more is conference. But since it's open source maybe someone else can try it...

E super programul, doar ca la versiunea 1.2, cand trimit sau primesc un smile, imi da o eroare. Apas butonul Details, si arata cam asa:
Thread Name: w>(ID) - Instant Message
Error: segment violation
Team ID: 64 Thread ID: 1814
EIP: 0xec1a90a2
Vreo solutie?
In English: Good job! In version 1.2, when I send or get a smile, i get an error. When I press Details button, i get next message:
Thread Name: w>(ID) - Instant Message
Error: segment violation
Team ID: 64 Thread ID: 1814
EIP: 0xec1a90a2
Any solution?

Wow, the graphics look really good. Excellent job.
If we ever get the Java/Flash ports, what chances would we have to play the Yahoo games (TokiTokiBoom and Pearl Hunter) from within this client?

You need the libyahoo2 source code.
Download it from http://sourceforge.net/projects/libyahoo2/ and put it in the home folder.

create lib folder in application (BeY) folder or use home/config/lib folder.
Create there link from libnet.so (placed in /boot/beos/system/lib)
and rename this symlink to libbind.so

It comes with any BONE-based BeOS versions.
This includes Dano/Zeta.
For R5's net_server, one should link BeY! against libnet.so... when source code will be available and/or author have time. ;-)

Heya Tim, it's been a while. About time we made the bme list a bit more lively again and actually started flinging some code.
I still stick by my ListView idea for the messages...hopefully now it's the summer holidays I will have time to actually write it!
Well done with this app, I like the look of it from the screenshots although I don't use yahoo.
