Indeed it is, more or less. Growl doesn't have the interactive aspects of IP, but on the other hand they've added more options to filter out messages you're not interested in and more control over the look of the messages. In the long run I suppose the apps will get to have pretty much the same features.

Mikael

Growl on the Mac? http://growl.info/

It seems that this came first and is more tuned to Be. Can anyone provide a comparison?

Congratulations

I wanna just to say how much cool is this app, I'm having a big fun writing some scripts to use its scripting features, I made a weather viewer, a rss aggregator and a query viewer for mails, too cool

http://xoomer.virgilio.it/zumi/screen/screen2.png

As can you see I have changed some colors, reading the code I have noticed the flags --info, --idea, etc so I thought it could use the same icons of alert application but i can't make it work...is this feature working or does it need a particular syntax ?

Yes, you can edit them directly. Look at the dev docs (or possibly in the source) to see what the constants mean for the layout stuff.

Yup, I've seen it. Looks pretty nice, but I'm not too fond of skinning :)

There will be changes to the way the popper looks in the future though, be they skinning support, non-rect windows or just plain old other changes. But there are a few things I'm planning to improve it. And xeD is too, obviously! (He can commit his changes to the SVN, should he want to..)

I'm on fault or I can edit its settings also using DiskProbe or QuickRes to modify the attributes of ~/config/settings/Beclan/InfoPopper/settings?

PS:

Have you seen the xeD's fork?

It looks very good, it so sad that it couldn't work on a plain R5 ;_;

Oops, that was supposed to be a R5 binary. Oh well. I'll see if I can talk to the Yab people and see if they can hepl me make a proper R5 binary. It was supposed to work on R5, but.. Oh well. Next time, Gadget, next time! :)

The r5 'InfoPopper settings' requires libzeta.so (and yes I've confirmed it's the r5 version).

R5 binary sans add-ons added

I've added a R5 zip that's missing the add-ons for SoundPlay and MDR until I get my hands on some binaries for those. Seems there are a few dependencies that are causing trouble when compiling, and I don't have the time to install R5 and figure it out at the moment.

I'm trying to find someone with R5 and the MDR source so I can get the MDR add-on compiled. The Popper and the SoundPlay add-on are done though.

You can find the source in the IM Kit SVN, in the utils folder. http://beclan.org/show_project.php?id=3
That is correct. However the downside of the CLI implementation is that you need to know where the binary resides (or have it in your path). Hey doesn't care where the app resides.
But with hey you need that InfoPopper is running, isn't it ?
Is too hard put an IP' symlink on ~/config/bin ;) ?
Or use in a script the command IPath=$(query -a name=InfoPopper) ?(I know it, this is a very ugly way)

The latest time I've compiled im_kit (probably it was the 551), I have noticed that InfoPopper had a direct CLI implementation, but I haven't read nothing about it in the docs...so this is not necessary to use hey, right?

Added portugese locale

For the InfoPopper settings app. Re-download the zip if you need it and already downloaded it.

Seems a bit excessive to post a new version for a locale file :)
