About sound problem (from official FAQ):
>>"I don't hear any sound and the Audio entry in the settings menu doesn't work.
Actually BillardGL does have neither sound nor music and the entry in the settings menu is just a dummy. More information about sound and music can be found later."

Very nice looking game but I have no sound.
Clicking on "audio" does nothing.
I do have an AMD with the DigitalXG soundcard,
could that be a problem?

My variant was successfully started before I have downloaded your variant (very slow Internet). Unfortunately I simply have not had time to look at changes made by you. Tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be on BeBits.

PS: Has found some mistakes in library GLUT which resulted in failures at work with the keyboard.

You can select the fps benchmark in the preferences menu.

Great work!

Wow! I remember playing this in linux and I am very excited to play this in BeOS! It works perfectly with Rudolf's driver! Thankyou!

One more thing- is there a chance that there is like a benchmark mode, or something in this game?

Stellarium

hey guys,

uploaded my version of stellarium to:

http://84.245.25.248/tim/stellarium/stellarium.zip

this encludes everything, sources and binary(in /src dir), note that when I executed it last, it crashed on exit...and the framerate is only 1-3 fps without hw opengl! hope this works with Rudolf's drivers because of that :)

you can enjoy some screenshots there too:

http://84.245.25.248/tim/stellarium/screen1.png
http://84.245.25.248/tim/stellarium/screen2.png

note that the server can be a bit slow, it has some problems we're looking after, so it would be best if someone mirrored the code....

@Rafael K: this should answer your question!

@3deyes: sure we can work together, mail me at the email-address above...we should contact the people of stellarium too! and bundle the program in a nice .pkg :D

@Rudolf: although I don't have any nvidia card I would like to see this working with your driver, if it doesn't, could you please contact me about how to make it work? you can mail me in Dutch!

regards,

Tim

it's good to know, otherwise I am wasting time
will you release it?
I wasn't able to build a working one of the latest version, so I used 0.4.9 and 0.5.0 they use glut instead of SDL

hehe...make that 0.7.0 the CVS version two months ago...you need to install Ahwahkayshi's(<-arggg) latest port of SDL for it though!

I've got a working port of Stellarium 1.7.0 on my harddisk...but some things have been ported really dirty...wanted to contact the authors about it, but haven't yet...I can zip it up and probably upload it somewhere so you can test it...not sure if it works with Rudolf's drivers though...I only own a Radeon(ok and a Voodoo 2 ;))

regards,

Tim

that's really great I noticed that when I build an old version of stellarium, so I couldn't release it because it wasn't useable!

In GLUT (http://www.bebits.com/app/890) have not been implemented functions and events for release of the key - glutKeyboardUpFunc, glutSpecialUpFunc.
Diff will be accessible in very near future.

correction/update

Hi,

As it turns out, it's probably the TNT1 that caused only 16bit to work correctly, as I ran on such a card. apparantly more than 16Mb cardRAM is needed..

Anyway, just tested on a GF4MX440, P4 @ 2.8Ghz, dano. fps is 60-80 using default settings. Works perfectly in 16 and 32bit desktop, in 16 and 32bit game depth.

Bye!

Rudolf.

R5 works

Is this the same Version from FooBillard, which was found as link in the Talkbakpage by s_d. If yes so I like to add my comment too.

The Game is running fine in 16Bit with around 9fps to 15fps on my P3 celeron 400Mhz Processor with R5 running.

Dont know if I should download this one here. Maybe to get the extended glut library?

But I think mine is ok allready otherwise the game FooBillard wont work anyway

Thanks, and play in 16 bit

Hi,

Thanks a lot for making this available! And thanks for putting your time and effort in. I appreciate this much :)

Seems to work all right here at 14-20fps on R5, dual P3-500.

One note though: works OK in 16 bit color, but in 32bit color the balls are all in B/W and some other drawing errors show then.

So I guess it's handy to mention that it should best be run in 16 bit color ;-)

Thanks again!

BTW: any info about that StarCharting program? I love that subject.. :)

Best regards,

Rudolf.

GLUT 3.7 missing special functions?
 By Philippe Houdoin - Posted on July 4, 2005 - 03:18:47   (#17088)
Current version when comment was posted: 1.75
Does the GLUT 3.7 was different than the one coming from latest Mesa3D?

If yes, do you mind if I commit them back into Mesa and Haiku source repository so future GLUT for BeOS versions support these functions?

- Philippe, Mesa BeOS port maintener and Haiku's "de facto" OpenGL kit (team?) leader.

thx for glut
