They do work, but hoipolloi needs to be in the search PATH under the actual name HoiPolloi (case sensitive). The easiest way to do this is to create a symlink to hoipolloi in a directory in the PATH. From the Readme:

For the utilities to work, a link called HoiPolloi needs to be in the Search Path. Open a Terminal and enter the following command from within HoiPolloi's directory
ln -s HoiPolloi-R5 ~/config/bin/HoiPolloi
or
ln -s HoiPolloi-Zeta ~/config/bin/HoiPolloi

Please note that this is case sensitive:
a link called ~/config/bin/hoipolloi will NOT work.
The reason for this is that the utilities essentially cause hoipolloi to call up another copy of itself with different parameters. To see how this works, just open up a Terminal in the hoipolloi directory and type
"HoiPolloi-R5 help" or the equivalent for the Zeta version.
An installer that will automate all this will probably be the main feature of v0.5. But I was hoping for some feedback on the app itself before I went any further.
