It works nice on Zeta, but not on my beos r5. It will only crash on start.

I suggested it as a solution because there will always be overlap and debate and I don't know much of certain genres, but for instance many would agree 'World Music' is a genre and since I'm a Jazz lover you might want to add Jazz Vocal, Jazz Mainstream, Jazz Swing, Jazz Modern, Jazz Avant-Garde.
Now I've opened up the floodgates on this talkback-section I guess ;-),you can also have a look at this to close them:

Almost forgot to mention - I don't think I want to add custom genre functionality, but if I'll be glad to add requested ones. :)

I didn't expect this kind of response, but I can't say I'm disappointed! :D There is FreeDB lookup, but cddblinkd isn't needed - it's included in the app. I haven't made much mention of it because IMO it's a feature that goes without saying. Results are stored on your computer so that once it has been looked up, it will be remembered.
Anyway, it always seems that I find bugs immediately after releasing, and sure 'nuff, I have already begun work on a second beta which works better. The progress stuff I fully intend to make nicer - a regular progress meter, etc.
Incidentally, I would've preferred SimplyMusic, but it was already taken. C'est la vie, I guess.

Works well, nice app...it would be perfect if users could add genres to the list, IMO...plus I'd like a more indicative progressbar, if possible. (percentage ?)

Since this app is capable of working with both mp3 and vorbis the title of the app "SimplyVorbis" is a bit misleading... I was put off for a while before clicking it because I thought it was one of those OggVorbis encoders.
Apart from that it sounds very nice to use. (Not yet tried it).
Also yes FreeDB lookup using cddblinkd would be excellent!
... enough talking!! I'm going to go try this one out!
Thanks.

"the details of bitrates and whether %A is for the Artist or Album field in the ripped file's name"
This is soo true. I went thru that last week with oggenc. What a mess. Your app works great, and its getting a big fat 10/10.
And just an addition for everyone - the Vorbis transperancy is at 160KB/s , compared to MP3's 192KB/s. And transperancy means no difference between original recording.
