just to point at the app name, "Microsoft Font Installer" ;^)
good suggestion though, DejaVu is great font set (and public domain too), i've been using it for my Haiku screenshots. If you didn't notice a difference, then good, its based on the Bitstream Vera font(s)
Maybe Ryan can make a non-MS font installer pack for lazy people?

Lucida was never released as a free font. Impact and Trebuchet MS are included though. I'm not sure why you think they are missing.

There are some useful fonts that are missed. Lucida, Impact, Trebuchet for example.
