This has got to be one of the dumbest things on BeBits. Call a kernel-call with invalid arguments and watch the system crash. Sure, it's a bug in BeOS: the kernel should check whether arguments are valid or not. At the same time, BeOS runs everything as "root", so there will always be ways to crash the system.

I can cause BeOS to reboot using a single C function call, causing all that was in memory to be lost. So what? I'll let you figure out how I did that. The reality is, though, that given enough access to almost any OS that allows me to write an application for it, and I can put it into an unrecoverable state quite readily (some more readily than others).

I would like those who tested this to reply and say if it worked.. I tested it on R5+bone and it KDLs, it KDLs on R5 as well.
But what about R4.5, zeta RC1, zeta 1, zeta 1.1 and zeta 1.2 ? zeta live cd?
Also, someone who can take a screenshot possibly with the OS emulator program like bochs.
