I once had a utility in development (abandoned due to boredom) where once a file reached zero bytes, you could compress it into negative bytes and actually create as much storage as you needed! I got bored writing the GUI for it and then lost it in a hard drive crash...
Just kidding, but seriously, that's a clever trick with the attributes. Funny story, too, when I was little and thought computers were magic boxes beyond what I knew about them, we one time had some loose cable issues with our hard drive in the DOS days and one day found most of our data corrupted and the FS reporting some 85 terabytes free. I went to school in grade 4 and reported excitedly to all my friends that I could now store millions of copies of all the video games ever made so far. What a great side effect to your computer going toast! Nobody seemed to care. Hmm...

Jeremy,
I knew it :) I read the source code and you are doing some tricky stuff with attributes.
I knew no compression code can be that simple or small :)
Hehe nice stuff... really nice !! :D

It doesnt make sense! How come! Just see these screenshots, and the file is perfectly unharmed!
Remember, but take off 4 .az parts on the most compressed file as I compressed it 4 times over its limit, and so those extra extensions got loaded on, but hey %100 compression that is nothing to complain!

Before anyone gets too impressed/carried away, I should note that this program is a joke... it doesn't actually do any compression at all. (if you don't believe me, try compressing the same file repeatedly... you can get it down to zero bytes and it will still "uncompress" back to the original file if you run aunzip on it the same number of times.... suspiciously good, no? ;^))
I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to figure out what the program is actually doing. :^)

When compressing a video and then viewing back the video you will only be able to watch as much as the file size is, for example TV episode of 175MB is so many minutes long you will only be able to watch up till what the compressed size is ex 65MB worth, but when it is uncompressed the rest can be wacthed... somewhat wierd but the compression is fantastic none the less.

Hey Jeremy. Great tool! I updated it so now you can compress any file of arbitrary size to 0 bytes in only one pass. Let me know if you want my patches.
This is the best thing since LZip.
