Post-install script

Yes, it does and I've used it before, but the only problem is that I have no idea how to get the install folder from SoftwareValet. If I knew that, making a symlink would be easy stuff.

Script

Doesn't the package builder allow you to run a "post-install" script? If it does' write a short script that takes the dir you installed to, add the app name, voila, symlink. I haven't used package builder in ages though and am not in front of my beos machine to check.

It's because of a lack of a good installer

Not that I don't want to allow that choice, but unless I've missed something, I can either allow the choice of install location or provide a quick shortcut, but not both. The PackageBuilder program doesn't make any provisions for this. If you can think of something, I'm all ears. :)

Looks Snazzy, But

My usual minor complaint. not everyone has a boot/apps/office directory. There's no option to install into an alternate directory.

It Works Great!

Transfered our Quicken files but it appears the limit is four accounts. My wife asked if you could add a cha-ching sound when entering a transaction. I told her the developer might be able to and through the sound preferance we could add our own, crying when entering a debit transaction and cheering when entering a deposit. I should also note the scolling doen't seem to work. I'll send a screen shot to your earthlink address.

Sweet!

Nice interface, and easy to use. I love it. Maybe I'll have to move over from using BeMyCheckbook after all these years!

looks pretty cool so far

I really dig the splash screen on the pkg installer. Looks very proffessional and financial. I installed it, a link in the BeMenu would be benificial like the one on the desktop.
So far this seems like the most proffessional looking app I've used on BeOS. When I have some money, I will definately try it out. The future looks good.
