Navigator will not provide a browse menu, because this is already supported by Tracker. It would not make much sense to have one, because the entire directory contents should be shown in the Navigator window already (except the contents of linked directories).
If you want a browse menu use Tracker not Navigator :)

Since i definitly leak the "right-clic and browse" functionnality of beOS under Windows, i search a little app that do the job and i found "KO Approach".
And more that just browse folders and sub folders, it provides you previews of images and sounds directly in the flat menu: http://www.koapproach.com/screenshots.aspx?id=3
I think it's a pretty neat feature and would be a good thing to add, imho

Navigator borrows some ideas from Eclipse (www.eclipse.org).
The Package Explorer from Eclipse shows Java packages the same way, as Navigator does for an entire directory tree.
And the cancel button looks also quite similar to the one used in Eclipse.

I like it. I read the documentation, although I noticed no instruction was given on the red square that can be clicked to stop the program from searching more down the directory structure. Maybe it is too obvious of a feature. The barber pole square also looks nice to have in this app.
