a few games never hurt anyone

I think DHTML is no more native to BeOS than are flash games. Which are usually found embedded in webpages, part of that big sea of DHTML. It's the logical thing.

Anyway. What harm does a few games do here on BeBits. I accept them and move on. The Soduko game looks nice, BTW.

Great...

Ah great...

So good to have these games. Another big step for the BeOs Community.

If you still think the way you do [kraton, ModeenF others], then let's take crusade around to take out every OTHER app around BeBits that uses a multi-platform language, say some nasty things about it and then try to get it off with your booing and hissing.

Here are some quotes taken from the message page when a BeBits dev decides to add a new app.

"Software for all other operating systems (such as Windows, MacOS, Linux, and all other OS's that are not BeOS) will be removed as soon as we find out about it."

Well, sorry to crash your party but this software works on BeOS. It also works on all those other os's as well.

Maybe since sdl is a platform independant language, let's go and take out all Rafael K's apps, because they work on GNU/Linux, Windows, Mac OS Classic, Mac OS X, BeOS, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris, QNX, IRIX.

"We're always open to new ideas, and if you think an exception should be made for your application, please contact us and we'll consider it, especially if your software would somehow be beneficial to the BeOS community."
Point 1. This software works on BeOS.
Point 2. It is usefull for me. I like to play the games. I use BeOS.
Point 3. If it benefits me, then it can benefit others. So that means it is beneficial to the BeOS community. Juan Alba Maldonado seems very supportive of BeOS and this web community in general.

One more point - if you two or others want to troll and spread your negativity here please leave. You want to critique an app - that's fine. You want to tell them to take off their windows software, fine. But don't tell them to take their good programs away if they infact work on BeOS.

There are a large 'cancer' group of BeOS users - they spread the rumours and fear monger about BONE 7a, Ph0S other cool things and what used to be of BeOS 64. These users need to stop and think - Is what I am doing going to hurt progress, however wrong I think it is, or is it going to encourage- what ever it may be. That is creativity.

what about java?

Then, if I write the same game but in Java or other language it belongs in here? No sense.
The very important thing is that it runs on BeOS, not language.

BeOs programms

people interested in BeOs/Zeta/Haiku programms are looking for software for their OS in here. These software should make use of some BeOs funktions or system libs then the software is using the OS and then it will be a BeOS app, and therefore belong to BeBits.

If someone is looking for javascript/flash/java programms he/she will find a lot of them in the internet. Like here: http://www.vrgraz.at/en/entertainment/games/index.html
Your games imply that it would be difficult to find games for BeOs and that is not true...

In other words: With BeOs you are able to programm Applications as good or bad as on any other OS out there using BeOS its librarys...

On the other hand it is not my intend to stop you from programming something and upload in here.

I will just encourage you to try another programming language, say YAB or C++... after compiling it with BEIDE it definately belongs in here.

about language

This game was written using JavaScript.
JavaScript is an interpreted language that needs a console to run it, like Java.
JavaScript can runs online like a Java program, or online like a Java applet.
JavaScript is an independent-OS language, like Java.
Is possible to make very interesting programs with JavaScript, like DHTML Lemmings, Writely, etc.
Java software is allowed on BeBits. Then, why not do the same with JavaScript software? BeOS needs more software, and JavaScript software can open doors.
