I've written a short guide on BeOSNews that describes how to create an aspell extension for Pe, and an aspell icon (with ZooKeeper) that a user can drag-and-drop text files onto.

To the poster of aspell: any interest in including the Pe extension and zookeeper app with the aspell download (in the same way that antiword for BeOS includes a few xicon scripts)?

Hi,
this still seems to be an old version The new zip still has some flaws. I guess it will be updated soon :-)
The manual is included in the right zip file. Chapter 6 tells how to write programs to use Aspell. It has a c interface.
You can read the manual at http://aspell.sourceforge.net/man-html/index.html if you can't wait.
