It sounds like speak is splitting itself up into multiple 'speaks' and each line gets spoken at the same time or something like that, any idea?

to hit the level of functionality of Talkbox, first of all there's no gui,and talkbox allow you to drag a text file directly on it's icon, second there's no clear way of setting the multiple voices(myelf I wish some of these BeOS text-to-speach apps would have the range of voices that have been available on the MacOS since 7.x,such as female and various fantasy type voices)thirdly it sounds very choppy compared to talkbox, and literally choked and crashed on a full page of text, also even tho it's comand line it should present itself with a list of commands upon launch rather than making one dig for the options in the doc files, my main use for an app such as this would be to synthesize text to speach for use inas samples in music i create using the BeOS,there's a windoze app that I can't recall the name of(speak it or say it or something like that) that does this quite well for the simple reason that it runs from a gui and has sliders that effect the modulation and pitch of the voice, once you type or paste a piece of text in it's text box.Just a few points to ponder.it is good to see some new BeOS apps showing up,so keep up the good work!

but would be even better if the notification sound panel of beos would be a bit more general and allow to use command line instead of just sound file.
