I have just sent the following email to the "General Stuff" and "Webmaster" email addresses which you can find on the contact page. I would appreciate it if others will do the same.
Subject: Reporting BeBits abuse (Windows software)
Dear folks at BeBits,
While still enormously thankful for your continued support for "our" beloved OS, it has come to the attention of myself and several other frequent visitors that the latest fad is for developers of software for the Windows platform to add their software to BeBits.
With this email, I hope to convince you to take action by removing the software and deleting the perpetrators, and if possible by banning these users altogether.
An application named EiffelStudio has made its way into BeBits ( http://www.bebits.com/app/4557 ), but there is one user, a certain "bart", who consistently abuses BeBits for this purpose. His user page shows that so far, he has posted five non-BeOS applications on BeBits, of which three labeled with the company name OKSoft. Please see http://www.bebits.com/devprofile/5734 .
The current response from the frequent visitors is to keep giving bad ratings and reported bad links to the software, which from a consumer psychology standpoint (along with the aggrevation now associated to the brand) is damaging to the software's brand awareness. Talkback and said ratings have been removed for two of the pages by deleting the software page and posting a brand new page.
My hope is that other users will follow me in this example to ask you to take more permanent measures so that you will take action. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
[NAME]

Be aware that when making reprisals, you don't break the law. In theory, this guy is not doing anything illegal. Granted he is annoying, but as I explained it has an adverse effect on his branding. It is in his better interest to stop and remove the software from BeBits altogether. Maybe a mass contacting of BeBits to ask them to remove any Windows related software will help when all of us send in a message?

With every comment here, he'll probably receive an email, so he'll already have an idea of how this page is received.
Voting will not make 'bart' remove this page (judging from his earlier entries here), so in that sense it won't help, but it probably can warn BeOS users in time before they download his stuff.

Bad scores in this (if you look at other apps) highly reliable voting system does more damage to the software's reputation than it will do any good to the software's brand awareness. In addition, BeOS users are pissed off about these manufacturers anyway.
If people look at the page, see that other users think it sucks (which is a very effective and persuative way of shaping one's opinion on a product, according to consumer psychology research), they'll ignore the software and prefer never to use it anyway.

I did, but what can a vote do? It will not help, if it stays here... it's like replying to spam posts on forums, everybody knows it's spam but if it remains there it will not help to say it's spam.
I reported this guy's crap several times to BeBits admins, nobody did anything.

@biffuz: no he's not stupid, he's spamming. Plain and simple. Bebits has high google pagerank hence this guy is using it to promote crappy Winblows stuff.
I Voted badlink. If any mods are around, they should consider banning this guy.
Everyone pls. vote badlink for this...

User -Meanwhile- has a great solution, simply voting "1" and reporting bad links for every piece of Windows software offered. I encourage you to join in on this.

This guy is posting Windows apps in a non-Windows site, and he even set the CPU type as PowerPC and the required version of BeOS? Is he stupid or what?
