MYOB, could an updated version of PC Card Wizard be based on this?

http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/haiku/haiku/trunk/src/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bus/pcmcia/

Haiku hasn't got PCMCIA support, it'd be entirely futile.

Could this be made to work with Haiku?
ATM, an error message claims it doesn't know this version of BeOS and my own attempts at adaptation have failed.

(BTW, never mind previous talkback: that's solved)

If anybody reading this has a 1.10beta4, 1.10beta3 or 1.10beta2 he or she's willing to send me, I'd be very happy. (The 1.10beta1 has a bug that makes it useless)

Where can I download "CompactFlash driver" ?

When I install ATAPI PC Card CD-ROM in Sony vaio PCG-505RS by using "PC Card Wizard", I get the message that
you have to obtain "CompactFlash driver" at the site
"http://free.be.com/experimental.html"

But the site was rejected and I can not get the driver.
I search it all over the web but I can't find it out in BeBit or Bezip and so on.

Anyone who have the driver would help me by uploading it in an appropreate server

Please!

BeOS 5 Personal Edition R5.0.1 I succeeded in installing the BeOS itself.

OK - I have downloaded the PC Card Wizard, but I don't know what to do with it. Can anyone give me some guidance?

I have windows 98 on my old computer. I have put in a new network card but the hardware wizard won't recognize it, because my computer tells me that I don't have a pc card wizard. I hope that this will solve my problem, but I need to know how to use it

Any info would be much appreciated - Thx!!!!!

Uh-huh.

Lemix,

What gave you the idea that this would work for a firewire adapter?

It won't.

Doesn't work with my PCMCIA IDE controller`

It says card non recognized and the script errors out.
Any suggestions which hardware works with this

Using a PMCIA to IDE converter by netcom connected to an IDE interface to Firewire connector.

:(

Works great

...with Nokia CardPhone rpm-1 even on Dano (I had to modify install.sh to accept Dano's 5.1 version number, script ended up with error but after all it works).

Is there a driver for the NetGear FA311 card for BeOS5.0.3?

-Nigel

Great! Just a few suggestions for future versions:

PC Card Wizard was a snap to use; my Netgear FA411 PC Card was up and running in seconds. If BeOS development continued and notebook support was improved, this program should definitely be part of the official distro.

However, I think it'd be useful to have a persistent GUI instead of a stepping through the process of recognizing/configuring your PC cards each time. That way, you could see all the installed cards in your database.

Is this nifty program being maintained anymore? If not, is the source code available?

Keep up the good work!

Works with Digital Camera Smartmedia Cards

I have used this on a Hitachi laptop running BeOS 5 and the the SmartMedia card from an Olympus 2000 digital carrier. The SmartMedia card was of course inserted into its pcmcia carrier. The instructions are pretty clear and I had soon had it working. I can certainly reccommend this.

worth its weight in gold!

This wizard is, hands-down, one of the most useful bits of software I've ever downloaded. I've never been much of a laptop guy, so when I got ahold of my first laptop (BeOS-compatible, of course!) I wasn't too sure what to do with my 3Com 3C589 PC Card. It had an experimental driver, but I knew nothing about how to make it work (and none of the usual driver tricks did anything). I figured I was stuck.

But I downloaded this, ran the script, and within 2 minutes I was on the net (and most of that time was spent reading the text in the wizard). This script does all the heavy lifting for you... in my case it was a lifesaver! I would have paid money for this thing.
