Having tried most of the newsreaders on BeBits, I have finally found what I was looking for. NewsReader is easy to use, does all the basics well and handles binaries. Though it does seem to slow a little when subscribing to newsgroups, this is only a minor gripe.
NewsReader is one of the better newsreaders on any platform and I shall definitely be paying the registration fee when the 30 days expires.

At first I thought the program froze when I tried subscribing to groups, but left long enough (5 minutes or so), it'll reach the newsgroup selection screen.
My system is powered by a Duron 600 on an Asus A7V with 128 megs of RAM, so I don't think processing power should be an issue.
Well so far, it's the only news reading program I can get to even run on my machine.

I remember first checking out BeOS. Fast, stable and full of promise. Also full of gaps. A newsreader is a must these days and Colin's stands out as the best. The application is *constantly* updated, with bug fixes, new features and better layouts.
This is my *favourite* newsreader of any platform. Well worth the time to try it out. Once it's complete, the $30 price tag will be a bargin.
Digger.

I like the fact that the threading is a little better. It'
s about the best usnetreader going except for pine. I only wish it could handle timezones and gmt offset better, I seem to be posting 3 to 4 hours in the future.
