Downloaded and installed on P4 2.26 GHz CPU using BeBits Radeon driver with ATI 9000 Pro AGP card.
RESULT:
"GL Teapot" speed was improved by an estimated 30% and now is running in the range of 115 - 145 Frames per Second. (Its so fast I only see the first 2 digits for sure).
Very nice. Thanks!!!

I think I need new header files when I want to compile apps with all new features, or am I wrong ??
Can I use the source package from the Mesa homepage ?? Are all of your changes already included in the source package ??

First thing I noticed when trying this was like double the
FPS. Then I noticed I could no longer resize the TeaPot. Then
I noticed Quake 2 Just crashes... This might not be due to
Mesa as a Cheat-o-Be experiment has left my system sketchy at
best when it comes to Quake 2 but while we get more FPS it
breaks a few things too.

The only problem is: I can't control the teapot with my mouse anymore.

Try this application to see if you still get the invalid opcode error, remember to install the driver too. http://www.bebits.com/app/2833 . It looks like your cpu is reporting SSE instructions as it should, but they are not available to use unless a certain bit is enabled on the chip. I could be wrong, it just depends how the kernel your using was patched, give it a try anyway.

I put the library in /boot/home/config/lib & now all OpenGL stuff cause an "invlid opcode" error when started.
I'm using an AthlonXP patched 5.0.3 PE kernel

Yeah, it take one full year to find out about Mesa 3.1 BeOS port done by Brian Paul and, then, I tell myself: "Let's fix it for 4.x and 5.x and I'll have done OBOS OpenGL kit. Whoooohooo!"
;-)
Back to regular comment, it's not finished 100%, as there is no BDirectWindow support yet, and obviouly only a 3D hardware
powered version make sense these days.
And it's not OBOS OpenGL kit, but just an alternative OpenGL implementation binary compatible with BeOS R5.
Okay, that sounds the same to many, I guess!

| Any 3D programmer willing to stand in for reviving BeOS version of Blender? |

Nice. Time to try porting an OpenGL app or two...
